A niche issue, perhaps – a while ago I complained to CJ Wildlife that they’d made the bars on their anti-squirrel cages narrower (we have a squirrel issue, we’d had to replace our old cage which had rusted away), thus excluding GSWs. They replied that this was in response to popular request to exclude “larger birds”. That anyone should want to exclude GSWs is incomprehensible. Anyway they now market a brand called Brussels which our GSWs (nesting in neighbours’ tree) have mastered, so I’m looking forward to young GSWs feeding outside the kitchen window again.
