Still lots of linnets at Gupton Farm – 700 on wires, another 200 or so feeding below in the crop, 300 more down at the Corse. A sparrowhawk and a merlin both flew through.

Down on the Corse, a marsh harrier was perched on the hedge right next to the hide – trouble is I was still only just passing Starman’s Hall, 500 metres away. 30 spp for my BirdTrack, among them a few golden plover hiding among 50 lapwings, 2 chough, a nice bright chiffchaff near the hide (collybita in both plumage and call). 4 Cettis sang, several water rail squealed away, and lots more.12 snipe the only other water birds, there still being next to no water except in the channels.
