More Sandwich Terns, Saundersfoot

There were about 30 Sandwich Terns resting on two distant inflatable dinghies in Saundersfoot Bay yesterday. On a return walk from Monkstone Point to Wiseman’s Bridge I did not see any of them flying at any time. I think the dinghies are tenders for the fishing boats, so  they may have been forced to move at the end of the trips.

The tourists seem to have scared birds away, with only handfuls of gulls and a few Fulmar on the cliffs under Trevayne woods and plenty of Chiffchaffs singing in the valley. A Little Egret was on the rocky beach just north of Coppet Hall Point, as usual.
