Nightjars / Barn Owl – Plumstone Mountain

A Nightjar was churring from the forestry area at the edge of Plumstone Mountain for about 10 to 15 minutes from about 10.10 pm this evening. Later, what was probably a second bird could be briefly heard churring from the open heathland further up Dudwell Mountain.
In addition, to this two Cuckoos were calling, and we heard three (possibly four) Grasshopper Warblers reeling away. Then, as we walked back towards the rocky outcrop at the top of the hill, a Barn Owl flew across in front of us..
