Tim Birch from North Pembs emailed yesterday, mentioning an Alpine Swift that he watched for about half an hour as it circled overhead near the youth hostel at Pwll Deri on Easter Saturday. We have advised him to send the descriptive details to Jon Green county recorder, but wonder if it was seen by anyone else up that way?

Chris Orsman from Lamphey also emailed yesterday, mentioning three Red-throated Divers, a Great Northern Diver and a Great Crested Grebe offshore in Freshwater East Bay yesterday morning before the rain arrived. There were also a few Guillemots floating further out, and a handful
of Manx Shearwaters moving through.

One of us (Bob) was also out on the south coast early yesterday morning checking Chough sites etc. prior to the rain. Small numbers of non-breeders were moving around including six near Lydstep. Between Freshwater East and Jameston, it was nice to see two Yellowhammers in a likely (previously regular) breeding area just inland from the coast. The weather became too unsettled for a proper survey of the area.
