Arriving at the Gann at about 6.35 am, I was delighted to find a Spoonbill on the Lagoons preening itself and feeding, and to be able to watch it for about half an hour. Among the other birds on the Lagoons were at least 7 Little Egret, a Grey Heron, a pair of Shelduck, and a pair of Mute Swans with a Cygnet. I had been told by a man I spoke to yesterday that a Spoonbill had been at the Gann in the early mornings every day this week, so it’s possible that it has been roosting there, or nearby.

The waders on the beach included 2 Whimbrels, 3 Ringed Plover and at least a dozen Dunlin, but I could find no sign of the Curlew Sandpiper that was seen there yesterday.
