We
are looking for volunteers to help survey various sample sections of the Pembrokeshire
coast and Milford Haven Waterway for the BTO Winter Gull roost survey (WinGS).
This survey will provide the first opportunity to determine if there have been
any significant changes in the numbers and winter distributions of the six commonest gulls (Herring, Lesser Black-backed, Great Black-backed,
Black-headed, Common, Mediterranean) since the last Winter Gull survey in 2003/2004-2005/06.
The
priority date for this winter’s survey is Sunday 21st January,
although counts will be welcomed up to a week either side of the preferred date.
