Two visits today to the Carding Mill path between Carew Cheriton and Milton. This morning, the best I could do was 4 chiffchaffs – a single at the E end and 3 near the ruined Carding Mill. This afternoon, I was lurking by the path there, listening to goldcrests and long-tailed tits, when Alf and Carol happened along. As we chatted, Alf spotted movement – a firecrest, feeding in the small trees on the S side of the path.
